Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q1: Can I use CurrencyRate while traveling offline or on flights?
Yes! CurrencyRate is fully offline-ready. Every time you open the app with an internet connection, latest exchange rates are cached locally on your device. When offline or in airplane mode, you can calculate and convert without interruption using the latest cached market rates.
Q2: What is the DCC Shield feature and how does it save money?
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is a common practice where foreign merchants or ATMs offer to charge your credit card in your "home currency" instead of local currency. This typically carries an unfavorable hidden markup fee of 3% to 8%. CurrencyRate's DCC Shield lets you enter the local price and compare it in real time, so you always know whether to pay in local currency to save money.
Q3: How do I restore my Pro purchase on a new iPhone?
Open CurrencyRate, go to Settings, and tap "Restore Purchases" (or open the Pro purchase screen and tap Restore). As long as you are signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase, your Pro access will unlock immediately.
Q4: How frequently are market rates refreshed?
Rates are synchronized with global financial markets and central banks multiple times daily whenever the app is actively connected to the internet.
Q5: How do I request a refund?
All purchases are handled directly by Apple. To request a refund, please visit Apple's official refund portal at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and submit your request.
